TAVIL Applies Lean manufacturing. Do You Know It?

TAVIL has adopted the Lean model as a fundamental part of its strategy, applying principles that improve the efficiency, sustainability, and responsiveness of its processes.

What is the Lean Manufacturing?

The Lean model originated in Japan during the second half of the 20th century and has evolved to become a management philosophy applied in companies worldwide. Its objective: maximize value for the customer while minimizing waste. The Lean principles that guide this approach include:

  • The customer doesn’t acquire a product or service, but a solution.
  • Value stream mapping: identify every step in the process and eliminate what doesn’t add value.
  • Continuous flow: avoid interruptions, accumulations, and bottlenecks that slow down production.
  • Pull production system: manufacture only what’s necessary, at the precise moment.
  • Continuous improvement (Kaizen): improve every day, incorporating learnings at each step.

The Lean Method and Corporate Lifespan

Less than a century ago, the average lifespan of a large corporation was 67 years. Today, that figure has dropped to just 18 years. The accelerated pace of technological change, globalization, and the constant evolution of consumer expectations mean that survival no longer depends on size, but on agility.

Organizations that adapt quickly and make efficient decisions are more likely to endure. Applying the Lean model enables precisely that: improving processes, reducing unnecessary costs, and maintaining relevance in a demanding market.
